Patch 10.8 Tier List Update Summary

  • Buffs: Ashe, Evelynn, Orianna, Ryze, Soraka, Tristana, Urgot, Xayah
  • Nerfs: Aphelios, Kalista, Master Yi, Senna, Sett, Varus

God Tier List

These champions are almost impossible to keep down. If your team doesn’t prioritize shutting them down, even if they lose their lane or CS, they can be a massive nuisance. On the other hand, if they’re good at the champion, it’s time to throw in the towel.

Mid Lane

  • Talon, Diana, Fizz

Jungle

  • Wukong, Zac, Graves

Top Lane

  • Wukong, Kled, Maokai

Bot Lane

  • Miss Fortune, Ashe, Ezreal

Support

  • Leona, Blitzcrank

Tier 1

These champions generally do very well regardless and have some advantage over most other champions. When they do well, their team does well. Even when they don’t do well, their team still has a good chance of a comeback victory by utilizing one or more aspects of their late-game utility.

Mid Lane

  • Kassadin, Galio, Ekko, Ahri, Nocturne, Cassiopeia, Vladimir, Malzahar, Qiyana, Katarina, Heimerdinger, Zoe, Annie, Vel’Koz, Xerath, Veigar, Anivia, Yasuo, Twisted Fate, Kayle, Orianna, Ziggs, Kled

Jungle

  • Rek’Sai, Ekko, Lee Sin, Shyvana, Evelynn, Elise, Warwick, Olaf, Karthus, Master Yi, Ivern, Nunu, Vi, Dr. Mundo, Rammus, Hecarim

Top Lane

  • Riven, Darius, Sett, Fiora, Vladimir, Kayle, Malphite, Garen, Nasus, Ornn, Mordekaiser, Sona, Olaf, Renekton, Yasuo, Sion, Camille, Gangplank, Rumble, Kennen, Quinn, Teemo, Lissandra

Bot Lane

  • Vayne, Jinx, Caitlyn, Varus, Draven, Heimerdinger, Lucian, Kai’Sa, Twitch

  • Bard, Nautilus, Taric, Zilean, Lulu, Nami, Pyke, Janna, Swain, Thresh, Tahm Kench, Maokai, Alistar, Morgana, Rakan, Braum

Rising to Tier 1

  • Zilean (Support)

Falling to Tier 1

  • Elise (Jungle), Nasus (Top), Olaf (Jungle)

Tier 2

These champions are viable and balanced, with a good chance of winning. However, they’re not overpowered and have their weaknesses.

Mid Lane

  • Syndra, Zilean, Lux, Akali, Zed, Renekton, Ryze, Morgana, Leblanc, Mordekaiser, Rumble, Swain, Brand, Sylas, Neeko, Azir, Aatrox, Aurelion Sol, Garen, Lissandra, Viktor

Jungle

  • Xin Zhao, Shaco, Sylas, Nocturne, Jarvan IV, Kindred, Nidalee, Diana, Kha’Zix, Gragas, Rengar, Amumu, Kayn, Jax, Sejuani, Volibear

Top Lane

  • Irelia, Illaoi, Poppy, Dr. Mundo, Jax, Pantheon, Tryndamere, Kalista, Sylas, Ryze, Jayce, Singed, Urgot, Volibear, Yorick, Cassiopeia, Swain, Karma, Shen, Gnar

Bot Lane

  • Aphelios, Xayah, Cassiopeia, Sivir, Tristana, Kog’Maw, Senna, Yasuo, Jhin

Support

  • Senna, Sona, Yuumi, Shaco, Soraka, Brand, Vel’Koz, Zyra, Galio, Lux, Xerath

Rising to Tier 2

  • Senna (Support/Marksman)

Tier 3

These champions can still do well but need a little more snowballing to get rolling. They may also have weaknesses that can be capitalized on.

Mid Lane

  • Karthus, Jayce, Taliyah, Tristana, Karma, Corki, Kennen, Gangplank, Wukong, Irelia

Jungle

  • Quinn, Pantheon, Darius, Tryndamere, Poppy

Top Lane

  • Jarvan IV, Akali, Nautilus

Bot Lane

  • Quinn, Kalista, Corki

  • Shen, Jarvan IV, Pantheon

Tier 4

These champions are either underpowered or offer less reward than other champions for the same amount of effort. They need gold to do their job correctly and if they don’t get enough of it, they become sandbags for the enemy team to punch. Chances of a comeback with one of these champions feeding on your team are almost none.

Mid Lane

  • Jarvan IV, Riven

Jungle

  • Riven, Nasus

Bot Lane

  • Twisted Fate, Veigar

Support

  • Trundle, Leblanc

Important Notes

  • Win Rates: While important, win rates aren’t the end-all criteria for a champion’s position.
  • Professional Picks: Professional picks may not necessarily translate into good picks for solo queue ladder due to different meta-games and skill levels.
  • Creator Bias: The creator of this list is diamond so there may be some personal bias towards higher tier play on certain champions.

Ashe [God Tier Marksman]

Even before the latest buff, Ashe was considered strong. After the buff, she’s incredibly strong in solo queue and an excellent pick in any team composition. She deals plenty of damage and has powerful utility.

Graves [God Tier Jungle]

Lethality Graves is currently one of the most obnoxious junglers in the game. He’s irritatingly difficult to kill and has the healthiest clear in the game, allowing him to power farm and scale incredibly well.

Kled [God Tier Top]

Players are sleeping on Kled in solo queue, especially when he hard-counters many meta top-lane champions. Despite low appearances at top tier play, he’s absolutely crushing solo queue at all levels.

Maokai [God Tier Top]

Maokai is incredibly consistent and can self-sustain through any top lane without a built-in grievous wound. The change to Sunfire cap continues to work well on him, granting excellent scaling into the late game.

Talon [God Tier Mid]

After changes on Death’s Dance, Talon continues to dominate the Rift for another patch. He’s always been very strong early to mid-game but now he’s able to dominate late game as well with a high margin of error.
