League of Legends Season 1 Act 1: Welcome to Noxus
As League of Legends enters its new seasonal model, the first Dev Update of 2025 provides a glimpse into what’s coming in Season 1. Here’s what you need to know:
New Seasonal Model
Riot Games is moving away from annual seasons, instead opting for major content updates every few months. This ensures there’s always something new for players to discover.
Thematic Narrative Expressions
Each season will have a theme, with Act 1 focusing on “Welcome to Noxus.” This theme will be reflected in the Battle Pass, new champions, champion reworks, and related skins. The goal is to incorporate more lore into these updates.
Noxus Theme
The first Act centers around the Noxian empire, known for its ruthless ambition and relentless pursuit of power. Not all characters from Noxus will be featured, prioritizing quality over quantity.
Future Acts and Themes
While the initial Acts will focus on Runeterra, future Acts may explore other universes within the League of Legends world, such as the Star Guardian or Bee universe. This approach keeps the game fresh and exciting for players.
Season 1 Act 1 Details
Season 1 Act 1: Welcome to Noxus will be available until March 5, followed by Act 2 on April 30, 2025. Each Act will have its own Battle Pass with unique rewards, including skins, borders, and more.
Battle Pass Rewards
The Season 1 Act 1 Battle Pass features several Noxus-themed skins, including Masque of the Black Rose skins for champions like Elise, Vladimir, Samira, and Katarina. The free Battle Pass includes two free skins, while the paid version offers additional rewards such as the Prestige Masque of the Black Rose Katarina skin.
Gameplay Updates
The new season introduces several gameplay changes, including visual updates to the Rift that reflect the Noxus theme. These changes aim to enhance immersion without compromising competitive integrity. Additionally, the ranked system will reset once per year instead of per split or season.
Champion Updates
LeBlanc is set to receive a visual update, possibly accompanied by gameplay changes. This update is part of the broader effort to keep the game fresh and engaging through regular champion reworks and new champion releases.
Community Engagement
Riot Games encourages players to test the new updates on the Public Beta Environment (PBE) and provide feedback. This feedback is crucial in refining the updates to ensure they meet the community’s expectations.
By embracing this new seasonal model, League of Legends aims to maintain a dynamic and engaging experience for its players, ensuring the game remains exciting and immersive throughout the year.
