Black and White Kyurem are Coming to Pokémon GO

Black Kyurem and White Kyurem are officially making their debut in Pokémon GO during the Pokémon GO Tour: Unova.

These powerful forms of Kyurem will be available in five-star raids starting March 1, 2025, as part of the Pokémon GO Tour: Unova – Global event. Trainers who attend the in-person events in Los Angeles and New Taipei City will be among the first to encounter them.

Pokémon Fusion

Black Kyurem and White Kyurem are created through a process called Pokémon fusion. To fuse Kyurem into Black Kyurem, you need to combine it with Zekrom using Volt Fusion Energy. For White Kyurem, you combine Kyurem with Reshiram using Blaze Fusion Energy. Here are the specific requirements:

• Black Kyurem: 1,000 Volt Fusion Energy, 30 Kyurem Candy, and 30 Zekrom Candy.
• White Kyurem: 1,000 Blaze Fusion Energy, 30 Kyurem Candy, and 30 Reshiram Candy.

Collecting Fusion Energy

Fusion Energy is a rare resource needed for the fusion process. Trainers can earn Volt Fusion Energy and Blaze Fusion Energy by defeating Black Kyurem or White Kyurem in raids during the Pokémon GO Tour: Unova events.

Special Features

• Non-Transferable: Black Kyurem and White Kyurem cannot be traded, transferred to the professor, or transferred to Pokémon HOME.
• Special Backgrounds: When you fuse a Reshiram or Zekrom with a Special Background with a Kyurem having the opposite color Special Background, the resulting Black Kyurem or White Kyurem will have a unique variant background.
• Separation: Fused Kyurem can be separated back into their original forms without using any additional Fusion Energy or Pokémon Candy.
